Director of Education & Events
Position Overview
The Director of Education and Events will be responsible for managing and providing strategic oversight of the Education and Event department. The Director will ensure optimal efficiency, client satisfaction, strategic direction, and profitability for our clients. As well as plan and execute successful education and event offerings.
What will be your key responsibilities?
Management of Education and Event Planners/Managers to support the development and implementation of educational and event offerings for our clients
Develop and implement plans and objectives for the department in an effective and innovative fashion
Establish and maintain departmental policies and procedures
Provide reports in management meetings regarding departmental goals and objectives
Oversee departmental staffing needs in collaboration with CEO (recruitment, interviewing, hiring, and onboarding)
Serve as a member of Ngage’s management team and participate in Ngage’s strategic planning process to identify goals and strategy
Work cohesively with other Ngage departments
Contributes to both team and volunteer committee planning processes for educational activities by gathering, analyzing, and interpreting data to help identify the educational needs of members of the profession
Develop program budgets for our client events and educational offerings
Monitor performance for our clients against budget and ensure course correction as needed
Conduct review and analysis of data associated with all education, event, training, and professional development activities for our clients toward maximizing benefit to members and prospects
Develop and manage all client contacts associated with the education, training, and professional development
Identify and implement opportunities for innovation within Ngage and with potential outside partnerships
Identify new business opportunities, cultivate relationships with potential clients, and actively participate in proposal development and sales presentations
Manage and expand relationships with partners and vendors
What qualifications are needed?
Certified Meeting Professional (CMP) Certification
5+ years in Association Management, Education, and Events
5+ of working with and leading committees made up of volunteer leadership from an association membership
Experience with Continuing Education and Continuing Medical Education preferred
Strong knowledge of adult learning initiatives
Comfortable with both in person and online delivery
Ability to work in a team environment is essential
High level of business acumen and ability to problem solve
Require strong professional customer service
Strong project management skills are essential
Strategic, analytic, and creative thinking are essential
Attention to detail; organization skills; ability to multi-task; interpersonal communication
Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees
Experience with learning management systems
Excellent computer skills (Microsoft Suite, Teams, Asana, Zoom, databases) and ability to learn new software easily
Ability to work unpredictable hours, including some evenings and weekends
This position will require travel to client meetings (up to 20%)
